About the event
Drumming offers the opportunity to come together as a community in a fun and interactive way. Drum circles facilitate a state of deep relaxation, joy, and a sense of well-being. In addition to learning rhythms, participants will develop tools to encourage social interaction.
No prior experience is needed to attend. This program gets you started with all the basics necessary to play and participate in community drum circles and will strengthen the skill level of those familiar with drumming.
We will give members an overview of the core concepts, including:
How to position and hold the drum
Notes, practice rhythms, and traditional African rhythms
Call and response, developing listening skills
