Bringing art and music to the center of our lives stimulates curiosity, sparks conversations and inspires us to look beyond the surface to celebrate our differences and our similarities. Music activities offer a unique opportunity to take healthy risks and we can learn to deal with anxiety and fear in healthy ways. Art and music encourage creative problem solving and improves communication skills. We will introduce the community to the power of traditional drumming and help create positive memories. In addition to learning how to play a djembe, this group class will give tools to encourage social interaction and reduce stress while having fun. The last class in this series will culminate in a fun-filled event in which all are welcome to attend and participate.
