On October 4, 2108, LIFE Center Stage held our second annual Knock Out Opioid Abuse Day Concert in partnership with Community Coalition for a Safe & Healthy Morris, Morris County Stigma-Free, Morris County and Partnership for a Drug-Free New Jersey – The Concert was held at the Malcom Forbes Amphitheater at the Morristown Medical Center in Morristown, NJ.
The event was filled with uplifting performances by 7 winners of the Knock Out Opioid Abuse songwriter’s scholarship contest;Heather Baldwin, Kathy Moser, Laura Grzanka, Michael Cavallo, Terry Dunne, Carolyn Messina, and Tina Lipson. As part of the contest, they were awarded the opportunity to work with Multi-Platinum Singer/Songwriter Lorraine Ferro in an anthem songwriting workshop. The event also featured performances by the 2018 Shout Down Drugs contest winners, Maria Chung, Megan Das and Valerie Vargas. The night ended with Lorraine Ferro leading the crowd and contest winners in singing Stand By Me. It was an amazing night filled with powerful performances.
I Stand at the Door by Michael Cavallo was voted as the crowd favorite and was selected as the 2018 -2019 Knock Out Opioid Abuse Anthem Song of the Year and will be professionally recorded in November 2018 and produced by Lorraine Ferro.
