FREE Community Drum Circle & Djembe Lessons

This programs gets you started with all the basics necessary to play and participate in drum circles. We will give members an overview of the core concepts including:

• Basics on how to hold the drum

• Notes and practice rhythms

• Rhythmic Games

• Call and Response – Develop listening skills

• Traditional African Rhythms

• Much more!

In addition to learning about these rhythms, this group course will give members a tool to encourage social interaction and reduce stress while having fun. This class will prepare you to participate in community drum circles and strengthen the skill level for those familiar with drumming.

Learning how to play a djembe offers an opportunity for all to explore rhythms in a fun interactive way. The last class in this series will culminate in a community event in which all are welcome to attend and participate.
